Van Kirks’ Ensure Future Support for Monmouth with Estate-Plan Gift

Pam Slaughter Van Kirk ’76

Pam Slaughter Van Kirk ’76 grew up just a few blocks from campus. Though her parents did not attend college, they never expected anything less from their four children. “I followed my three brothers to Monmouth,” Pam says. “My childhood memories are intertwined with the College.”

In gratitude to “the college that set me on my trajectory in life,” Pam and her husband John have included Monmouth in their estate plan with a legacy gift through their trust.

“The College was such an important part of growing up for me,” Pam says. “John and I have appreciated the positive relationship the city of Monmouth has with the College. We have also enjoyed attending campus events, such as Monmouth Associates and other special lectures, music concerts, and theater productions.”

Pam and John left their gift unrestricted to be used for the greatest future needs of the College. They encourage others to consider the legacies they could leave to support future Fighting Scots. “Monmouth College has given so much to me personally and my family that it feels right to give back,” Pam concludes. “I’m proud of my Monmouth College education, and this planned gift is a perfect way for John and me to support the mission of the school.”
